Celtics Roll By Wizards 130-125 in Overtime Thriller in Washington
Every time the Celtics and Wizards meet, it’s magic on hardwood, and last night was no different. The game had twists, turns, and enough big moments to make the most hardcore of fans put their hands over their face. However, when it was all said and done, it was Kyrie Irving and the Celtics who would pull through 130-125. Irving’s 38 points and game clinching three-pointer put the nail in the coffin for the Wizards.
In addition, the entire Celtics team also pitched in. Mr. Reliable, Marcus Morris, poured in 27 points of his own while grabbing 9 rebounds. Smart played crucial defense down the stretch that led to two turnovers. Finally, Jayson Tatum may not have had the offensive impact that he’s capable of, but he was active on the boards in Horford’s absence, tallying 12 rebounds.

Kyrie Irving M-V-P
It’s time to talk about this. Around the league there is a case to be made for Lebron James, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, etc… Nevertheless, Irving has carved out a case of his own. He’s become the most cold blooded shooter in the entire league. There’s not a player in this league that plays better in the 4th quarter.
There’s this narrative created around Irving’s career that he has only been good because of his former teammate James. This is the season where Irving solidifies himself as a superstar, and also the second-best point guard in the league. When April becomes May, and Irving is tearing it up in the playoffs, there will not be anymore questions about Irving’s stardom.
Player of the Game: Kyrie Irving
As mentioned throughout this entire article, Irving was phenomenal. However, there were also planets of other great performers on the Celtics. Great game all around for the team.
Honorable Mention: Marcus Smart
Marcus Smart with 2 consecutive forced turnovers that won't go down as steals for him.
When Brad Stevens and others talk about how Marcus Smart makes winning plays that won't show up on the stat sheet, this is what they're talking about.

Looking Forward to the Next Game
Boston takes their seven game win streak back home to face the Atlanta Hawks. It is easy to see that the Celtics are in the easiest part of their season so far. I am expecting some more rest for someone like Al Horford, and more minutes for Robert Williams hopefully.
