City After Saul, Guardiola Rules Out Move
‘El Chiringuito’ Juanfe Sanz claimed that Manchester City are ready to pay the 150 million euros clause to acquire Atletico de Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
However, Pep Guardiola confirms that the Premier League champions are not ready to do so. He also added that the reports are far from accurate.
Despite this, the Catalan manager praised the midfielder during his press conference on Tuesday.
Situation
The report from Sanz indicates that City has great interest in paying the clause as they feel Niguez is the successor to Fernandinho.

He also added that Niguez camp have had conversations with City members. Additionally, Niguez and camp will evaluate all the conditions in favor of a move.
Saul recently signed a long-term deal with the Colchoneros amid rumors of a move to Barcelona.
Pep Guardiola Confirms Otherwise
Though Guardiola has great admiration for the Atleti player, he insisted the 24-year-old’s future remains at the Wanda Metropolitano.
“Manchester City have interest in 125 players in the last day, so one more,” he said in an initially weary response to the rumour.
“Sometimes I read ‘Pep Guardiola is interested in this player’. Still I didn’t know him.
“[Saul] is a fantastic player but we are not interested in him. He is an Atletico Madrid player who is going to stay there for a long time because he is an exceptional player.”
This also in the wake of Manchester City signing midfielder Phil Foden to a long-term deal. In doing so, City avoids a similar situation in former youth player, Jadon Sancho who departure to Borussia Dortmund.
