Cleveland Cavaliers End The Sixers 10 Game Home Winning Streak
The Philadelphia 76ers recent winning ways came to an end at home last night. The Sixers first loss at home this season came at the hands of the unassuming Cleveland Cavaliers. The 76ers were outscored and out rebounded on their home court. Four of Cleveland’s starters finished with double figures as they claimed their third win of the season 121-112.
Do Not Blame Kendall Jenner!
Do not place the blame on Kendall Jenner, whom was court side during last evenings loss for the Sixers. This defeat had nothing to do with tv personalities presence. However, it had everything to do with their lack of rebounding.
The Sixers were killed on the boards 42-31 by the Cavaliers. They got double doubles from Joel Embiid (24 points, 12 rebounds) and Ben Simmons (22 points, 12 assists). They also received strong outings from JJ Redick (23 points, 4 assists) and Jimmy Butler (22 Points), but it wasn’t enough for them to overcome this lopsided stat. Not to mention the Sixers also did themselves a disservice by turning over the ball 10 times. As a result, this allowed additional scoring opportunities for the Cavaliers.
We Are All Witnesses…
The phrase printed on the banner featuring Lebron James applied to last night’s contest. We were all witnesses. Although James took no part in this victory for the Cavs, it was actually Rodney Hood, who was acquired by the Cavs last season, that held down the fort. His 25 points and four rebounds led the way for his team.
This was also not a solo effort as he received some assistance from his own version of The Kings Court. Colin Sexton scored 23 points and had 5 assists. They also received a noble effort from Cedi Osman with 20 points and eight rebounds. That left room for Tristan Thompson, who played the role of executioner. It was his double double of 18 points and 13 rebounds that killed the Sixers on the boards. All of these factors combined proved to be a royal pain for the Sixers.
No sleep Till Brooklyn
There wont be much time for the Sixers to dwell on this loss. They head to Brooklyn tomorrow to take on the 8-12 Nets. Will they be able to correct their shortcomings on the glass and resume their winning ways? Or will they leave the Barclays Center feeling restless? Tune in to find out!
