Sixers Look to Continue Winning Ways Against The Grizzlies
The Philadelphia 76ers look to continue their winning ways. The Sixers will do battle against the 6-4 Memphis Grizzlies. The newly acquired Butler will most likely join up with the team this Monday. As a result, they will be tasked with taking on a team with a winning record shorthanded.
Tonight they will miss Robert Covington’s defense and shooting, the long range skills of Dario Saric, and the depth Jerryd Bayless provides. Waiting for them will be some Grizzlies not in hibernation mode. Marc Gasol, another big whom also can knock down shots from beyond the arc, will give Joel Embiid fits.
Ben Simmons will also have his hands full with a much smaller yet deadly opponent in Mike Conley Jr. He leads his squad in scoring (16.7 points per game) and attacks the basket from each side of the rim. This game is currently in progress tune in to see who can get the upperhand and come out on top!
Sixers Sting The Hornets In Overtime
To no one’s surprise, Joel Embiid had yet another Incredible Hulk like performance last night (42 points and 18 rebounds). Embiid’s accuracy from the charity stripe (14 for 16 free throws), and Ben Simmons near triple double (22 points , 13 rebounds and 8 assists) were enough to nullify Kemba Walker’s 30 point performance. This propelled their squad to victory over the Charlotte Hornets by a narrow margin in an OT thriller at home. However there was no time for them to celebrate the 133-132 win.
Huge Acquisition!!!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you most likely heard the big news regarding the 76ers. Earlier today, it was announced that the Sixers and Minnesota Timberwolves had agreed in principle to a trade which would send Jimmy Butler to Philadelphia.
