The 76ers Come Up Short Against The Bucks…
Wednesday night’s outcome of the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks game was disappointing. Coming in, folks were expecting to see a thrilling contest. What at one point looked like a promising start for the 76ers quickly faded away. They finished the first quarter with a 12 point lead, with the score being 34 – 22. Unfortunately, this was the only quarter of last night’s matchup that the Sixers hold any bragging rights to.
Second Quarter Onslaught
The Bucks best trio, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, dominated. Antetokounmpo scored 32 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists. Brook Lopez also had a great game, scoring 21 points, which included five three pointers made. Khris Middleton had 25 points to also aid the Bucks in their onslaught. Above all, they were responsible for 40 of the Bucks 49 points in the second quarter. As a result, it led to a 123-108 victory for the Bucks at their newly christened home the Fiserv Forum.
Second Showing From Embiid and Simmons
The returning Ben Simmons was able to mess around and post a triple double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. This was his second of the season. Also, Joel Embiid continued on his path to become the Sixers first MVP since Allen Iverson during the 2000-2001 season. He put together a monstrous effort, which he had 30 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. However, the Sixers struggled to overcome the odds in what became a lengthy game of catch up.
What’s Next For The Sixers?
The 76ers will have their shot at retribution. They get to face Milwaukee two more times this season in the spring of 2019. However, for the time being, they must be focused with the task at hand. They will need to regroup and come up with a gameplan for Saturday night. The visiting Charlotte Hornets, who also have a 2-3 record, will be hungry to pick up a win on the road.
Also, finding a way to stop the red hot Kemba Walker, who leads the Hornets in two categories, won’t be easy. He leads them in scoring, averaging 31 points and 5.4 assists per game. Will the Sixers be able to correct their mistakes and get back on track at home? Tune in to find out!
