Triple H Claims SummerSlam 1992 Was NOT A Success

With all the hype in the world, NXT UK debuted this morning to an unbelievably positive reception from the fans. Finally, UK fans have their very own piece of WWE all to themselves. But the big question remains: When will the UK get a pay-per-view again? Ever since the ever popular SummerSlam 1992, the UK part of the WWE Universe have been begging for another big show.

According to Triple H, another major UK show may not happen anytime soon, if ever.

Not As Successful As We Thought

Triple H is hesitant about hosting another WWE pay-per-view, according to The Mirror. This is mainly because of the “misconception that SummerSlam 1992 was a success”, when it apparently was not.

When speaking with The Mirror, Triple H had this to say about Wembley and SummerSlam 1992:

“The time zones are the big kicker… We have to go where the most people can watch. I always hear about Wembley, I always hear it was such a massive success: It was not. From a business standpoint, it was not. That’s why we didn’t come back and that’s why we’re still trying to figure it out.” -quote courtesy of The Mirror and WrestlingInc

Nothing For Now

Unfortunately for UK fans, this most likely means WWE won’t be hosting another major pay-per-view “across the pond” anytime soon. However, with the success of Greatest Royal Rumble and Super Show-Down (pulling in roughly 50,000 tickets sold at each event) maybe WWE will change their minds. With the discussion of a time zone issue, it clearly didn’t hinder the success of the Saudi Arabia and Australia show.

With what we know so far, Triple H is still unsure about a major show in the UK. Maybe the success of NXT UK, as well as other international shows, will help change his mind. After all, what UK fan wouldn’t love to see WrestleMania live from Wembley Stadium?
