Brewers Suffer Walk-Off Loss to Dodgers in Game 4
Last night, the Brewers suffered a tough loss in Game 4 of the NLCS with a walk-off loss against the Dodgers. The series is now even at two games apiece. Brewers starter Gio Gonzalez left the game early due to an ankle injury. He lasted just one inning giving up two hits, one run, one walk, and zero strikeouts. Before turning it over to late-inning relievers, rookie Freddy Peralta took over for three innings. Peralta pitched three hitless innings while walking three, and he struck out six Dodgers. On the opposing side, Rich Hill was dominant for the Dodgers. Hill went five innings allowing one run on three hits, three walks, and six strikeouts. The Brewers will look to rebound in Game 5 tonight while sending Wade Miley to the mound.
Game Recap
The Dodgers offense got started quickly with a run in the first inning. Brian Dozier connected for an RBI single to score David Freese. The offense on both sides was pretty quiet until the fifth inning. In the top of the fifth, Domingo Santana doubled home Orlando Arcia to tie the game at one. Game 4 would go into extra innings. Neither side was able to score until the thirteenth inning. In the bottom of the thirteenth, Cody Bellinger delivered the walk-off single, scoring Manny Machado, and giving the Dodgers a huge Game 4 victory. Julio Urias earned the win for the Dodgers while Junior Guerra took the loss for the Brew Crew.
Hader Continues Dominance
As most might have expected, Josh Hader is the only Brewers reliever to not allow a run in this series. In seven innings pitched, Hader has not allowed a single run and has struck out twelve hitters along the way. The lefty had dominated every time he has taken the mound. The Brewers will continue to use Josh Hader as their most lethal weapon in the bullpen as they look to fight back in Game 5 of the NLCS.
