Brewers Aim To Go Up 3-1 Against the Dodgers
After a big win last night, the Brewers will look to add another victory against the Dodgers tonight in Game 4. The Brewers are sending lefty Gio Gonzalez to the mound. On the year, Gonzalez is 10-11 with a 4.21 ERA and 148 strikeouts with the Nationals and the Brewers. This will be the first time he is pitching on short rest since 2008. Gonzalez pitched Game 1 of the series. In that game, he went two innings, allowing one hit, one run, one walk, and had one strikeout. The Dodgers are sending lefty Rich Hill to the mound. On the year, Hill is 11-5 with a 3.66 ERA with 150 strikeouts. Hill has faced the Brewers twice this year allowing one run in six innings in both starts. Game 4 can be seen at 9:09 pm EST on FS1.
Gonzalez Looks to Continue to Thrive Against Dodgers
Gio Gonzalez has had his fair share of bumpy starts along the way, but one team he tends to hold in check is the Dodgers. Among the Dodgers who have faced him, they are hitting .235 and slugging .336 collectively. Only two Dodgers have had Gio’s number; Matt Kemp and Manny Machado. In his career, Matt Kemp is hitting .333 with two homers and seven RBIs. Machado is also hitting .333 off of Gio Gonzalez. If you remember, the only run allowed from Gonzalez in Game 1 was a solo shot to Machado. Looking to continue his success against the Dodgers, Gonzalez will need to overpower Kemp and Machado and keep the rest of the Dodgers at bay.
Brewers Bullpen Looks for Another Dominant Start
Last night, the Brewers bullpen got much-needed rest. A lengthy start from Jhoulys Chacin helped favor that. The Brewers bullpen has been taxed heavily this postseason. Though it is their biggest strength, the Brewers can only rely on their bullpen for so long before they break down. It does not appear that they are showing sign of that, but anything can happen, and in baseball, it can happen really quick. The Brewers ‘pen will look for another dominant outing from starter Gio Gonzalez to help save their arms.
