Vince McMahon Sr Missed Big Opportunity

Vince McMahon Sr Missed Big Opportunity

WWE

The WWE is known for being the most successful wrestling company in the industry. The McMahon family has been running it since the beginning. However, sometimes the people running the show can miss out on some big opportunities that should be taken full advantage of. Below is a prime example In the story below. Let’s take a look and see how Vince McMahon Sr. missed a big opportunity.

Vince McMahon Sr Missed Big Opportunity

Vince McMahon Sr., the man who ran the WWE until it got taken over by his son Vince McMahon; misses a big-time opportunity according to Jim Cornette. Cornette was recently interviewed, discussing the Andy Kaufman vs Jerry “the King” Lawler feud and how Vince McMahon Sr. missed a big opportunity. This was because of the fact he was afraid it would be too “showbiz” for professional wrestling. The crazy part about it was that McMahon Sr. had in his mind that if it was to “showbiz”, then it would make the WWE look bad to have Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler in a feud.

What’s Next, Pop Culture perhaps?

Kaufman vs Lawler was the one main thing people believed about wrestling in the last 35 years or so. If you really think about this one logically, McMahon Sr. had the perfect chance to have a celebrity crossover in the modern era of professional wrestling and missed the chance. Celebrities had already been playing with Gorgeous George for years, but in the modern era, he got beat before Cyndi Lauper. Before Rock “n” wrestling, before Liberace. All this pop culture was a big hit potential. All this happened before Wrestlemania was even a thing, and it was always Andy Kaufman.
