Seattle Seahawks vs Chicago Bears Preview
Khalil Mack looks to continue his dominance. The Bears will do anything they can to wash the disgusting taste of last week’s embarrassing loss out of their mouths. The Seahawks will continue to try to rediscover themselves now that the “Legion of Boom” is no more.
Week 1 Recap
The once vaunted defense of the Seahawks known as the “Legion of Boom” no longer exists. It showed as Seattle gave up 27 points to the Denver Broncos. While they did wind up with 3 interceptions, Denver’s new QB, Case Keenum, still had 329 yards passing with 3 touchdowns. Seattle’s QB, Russell Wilson, went 19-33 passing with 298 yards and 3 touchdowns. Unfortunately for them, he also had 2 interceptions along with 2 fumbles. Their defense only had 1 sack. A lack of pressure on the quarterback isn’t the way to win in this league.
What can be said about the Bears’ crushing loss against the Packers that hasn’t already been said? Aaron Rodgers came back in the second half after suffering a knee injury in the first quarter. He “single-legedly” erased a 20-point deficit for a 24-23 victory. This was done despite the dominant Bears debut of All-Pro linebacker, Khalil Mack, who had a sack and an interception return for a touchdown. The offense struggled as QB, Mitchell Trubisky, could only muster up 171 yards passing with no touchdowns through the air.
Week 2 Preview
The Seahawks’ defensive struggles don’t look to get any better Monday night as they will be missing LB K.J. Wright. CB Tre Flowers is doubtful along with S Delano Hill. Rookie CB Shaquill Griffin is questionable. While Russell Wilson is the reliable and magical veteran he has proven to be over the years, the team is going to have to provide him with a little more help in the back field and through the air. I’m very certain that the team doesn’t want to fall two games behind the Rams in the division.
Khalil Mack looks to continue his dominance. He proved why he should have been given a huge contract in last week’s game against the Packers. I look for him to do much of the same Monday night against the Seahawks. I also look for Mitchell Trubisky to have a better game against the questionable and injury-plagued defense of the Seahawks than he did last week. The Bears should also feel pretty good right now as they caught a break yesterday with the Vikings and Packers game ending in a tie and a Lions loss. Things are looking up for the residents of Soldier Field tonight.
