Rey Mysterio is Not Guaranteed to Make WWE Return Anytime Soon
In a recent interview with Bill Apter on Apter Chat, Rey Mysterio discussed a possible return to WWE.
While talking about a return to WWE for Mysterio, the former WWE champion admitted it wasn’t a definite happening. Though he would be open to a return, nothing has been agreed on yet.
“I’m doing what I’m doing right now. I’m enjoying my independent wrestling life…. If I want matches…. I’m going to make them happen, if it’s possible. There’s no insurance or security right now that I am going back. I’ll tell you what though, if the time is right and there’s an agreement on both ends… I wouldn’t say no. If it’s correct. If it’s the right one. But in the meantime, I’m still enjoying my liberty out here in independent wrestling.” quote courtesy of WrestlingInc
Mysterio also discussed his Royal Rumble return earlier this year. He says that, versus 2014’s debacle, his reception was one that “kept his adrenaline at one thousand for hours.” Rey admits he was confused and upset about his number thirty entrance being booed at the 2014 Royal Rumble. But he eventually understood the hate wasn’t towards him; It was instead towards the booking and Daniel Bryan not being in the match.
At the moment, Rey Mysterio is still on the independent wrestling circuit. He competed at All In in the main event. Mysterio has made several appearances in Mexico, Japan, and on Lucha Underground. He is a former WWE World, WWE World Heavyweight, WWE Intercontinental, and WWE Tag Team champion.
Though nothing has been agreed upon now, it would be exciting to see Rey Mysterio back in a WWE ring soon.
