Props

New England Patriots QB: Tom Brady

Props: 302.5 passing yards

Points: Over = 95

Summary: The Houston Texans passing defense struggled last year. They finished the regular season as the 24th team in passing defense. Last season, Tom Brady shredded the Houston passing defense as he threw for 378 passing yards and five touchdowns.

I know some think the Texans defense has improved this offseason, but that’s not going to stop Brady from being Brady. The 41-year-old quarterback has yet to show signs of decline so don’t expect any different on Sunday. Expect Brady to throw for around 310 passing yards and multiple touchdowns against the Texans.

Props

Houston Texans WR: DeAndre Hopkins

Props: 86.5 receiving yards

Points: Over = 110

Summary: The return of Deshaun Watson is crucial to DeAndre Hopkins’ production. This QB-WR combo has the potential to be one of the best in the league. Both players will want to show out in the first game of the season. Expect Watson to throw a lot of balls to D-Hop against the New England Patriots.

New England’s defense is known to bend against productive offenses. The Patriots are likely to win the game but will struggle to slow down D-Hop. The former Clemson wide receiver could eclipse 100 receiving yards and snag at least one touchdown.

New Orleans Saints RB: Alvin Kamara

Props: 0.5 rush touchdowns + reception touchdowns

Points: Over = 110

Summary: The New Orleans Saints will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. With the suspension of Mark Ingram, expect more carries for Kamara. The NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year is due for another big season, and it all starts on Sunday.

Tampa Bay defense will have trouble slowing down the New Orleans offense. It’s hard to imagine a scenario in which the Bucs defense has a big game. New Orleans could put up 30+ points, and Kamara could likely have two of those touchdowns.

Minnesota Vikings WR: Adam Thielen

Props: 0.5 receiving touchdowns

Points: Over = 130

Summary: The addition of Kirk Cousins to Minnesota boosts Adam Thielen’s fantasy football stock. Thielen has a quarterback that can air it out so don’t be surprised to see Thielen catch a touchdown this weekend.

Cousins signed a huge contract with the Vikings this offseason. Minnesota believes they have the team that can win it all. Fantasy junkies, keep your eyes on Thielen this season because he’s going to eat.

Buffalo Bills WR: Kelvin Benjamin

Props: 0.5 receiving touchdowns

Points: Over = 140

Summary: This is a tricky one for fantasy football junkies. The Buffalo Bills announced this week that Nathan Peterman will starter at quarterback on Sunday. Some fans believe that Josh Allen should be the starter, but that’s a story for another day.

Kelvin Benjamin could still impact this game in a big way. Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith is suspended for four games. His absence should aid the Bills’ air attack tremendously. Don’t expect Benjamin to have a monster game but he should be able to break free for a red zone touchdown or two early in the game.
