New Contract Extension For Aaron Rodgers Is Huge
It is a long time coming for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to sign a new contract extension. After watching quarterbacks in the last few years sign new contracts like Derek Carr’s five-year $125 million, Matthew Stafford’s five-year $135 million, Matt Ryan’s five-year $150 million and Kirk Cousins’ three-year $84 million, it has perfectly paved the way for Rodgers’ potential contract.
Rodgers’ new deal is huge; he is set to make almost $180 million in four years. $103 million is guaranteed. By the end of the first year of his new contract, Rodgers will have banked $67 million. Adam Schefter spills all the details about Rodgers’ new contract in his latest tweet.

Rodgers’ new extension with the added bonuses is believed to be the biggest in NFL history. This also likely ties the quarterback to Green Bay for the rest of his career.
$180 million is a ton of money, but Rodgers is more than deserving; he holds multiple different NFL records and continuously shows viewers why he is the most accurate quarterback in the game today.
The two-time MVP was out last season due to a broken collarbone in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers broke his collarbone once before during the 2013 season and missed the last six games of the season.
In 2014 Rodgers had an outstanding comeback season. He received the MVP award by throwing almost 4,400 yards for 38 touchdown passes and a 65.6 completion percentage. Coming back this season Rodgers plans to do that again. With his new superstar tight end Jimmy Graham and breakout star wide receiver Devante Adams, Rodgers has a high chance of repeating his past.
The Green Bay Packers start their season off as the first Sunday night game at home vs. the Chicago Bears. Rodgers will make his return and play an entire game fully healthy since Week 6 of last season.
