Doug Baldwin Could Miss Preseason With Knee Injury
Seattle Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin will be out for several weeks with a knee injury, according to Pete Carroll. Insiders say, Baldwin, who reportedly began training camp with a sore knee, could potentially miss the entire preseason. In the meantime, Seattle will rely on a receiving corps of Brandon Marshall, Tyler Lockett, and Jaron Brown.

Fortunately for Baldwin, doctors expect a full recovery in time for Week 1 of the regular season. Questions remain, however, about Baldwin’s recovery process. Baldwin, who led Seattle in receiving yards for the fifth time last season, has a reputation for playing through pain.
While Baldwin’s toughness is admirable and a valuable trait, it’s also led to concerns that he’ll force an early return. If he does, he’d face a higher risk of aggravating the injury — potentially sidelining him even longer.
In addition, further speculation about Baldwin’s injury has been fueled by comments from teammate Dion Jordan. Jordan, himself out with injury, has attributed Baldwin’s condition to a “stress issue” not related to his knee.
Regarding Baldwin’s recovery, Pete Carroll had this to say:
“He came into camp a little bit off, and we just want to make sure that we take care of him. We know exactly what’s going on. He’s doing some special treatments to make sure that we’re taking care of him, and we want to bring him back into shape so we can really get him ready for the long haul.”
The Seahawks begin their preseason August 9, facing the Indianapolis Colts in Seattle.
