Larry Legend Is On Top Of Other Celtic Legends
When you think of the greatest Boston Celtic of all time a few players come to mind including Bill Russell, Paul Pierce, John Havlicek. The greatest Celtic of all time is none other than Larry Bird aka Larry Legend. Bird was drafted in 1979 to a 29 win team and instantly turned them to a 61 win team his rookie season.
He averaged 21 points, ten rebounds along with five assists. After leading Boston to the number one seed in the East, overall Bird led the Celtics to the second round, eventually losing to the 76ers in the second round. The very next season he helped them win the title, prior title since 1976.

Larry was the ultimate competitor and trash talker. He was a great shooter, good defender, tremendous rebounder for the small forward position and amazing passer. Bird displayed a high basketball IQ on the court. Bird defended the post pretty well and timed passing lanes in addition to his intensity he was unguarded on most nights.

Larry Legend was indeed apart of one of the greatest player vs. player rivalry in NBA History. Bird and Magic first met up in 1984 and with the Celtics winning in seven games Bird capturing the Finals MVP. Nonetheless, he showed the world he was one of the best players in history.
Averaging 27 points along with ten rebounds a game. To point out Bird led as some may consider one of the greatest teams ever in the 85-86 season along with Kevin McHale and Robert Parish winning 67 games. Bird won his second NBA Finals MVP and third ring.
Why Bird Is The Greatest Celtic
When talking about the greatest Celtic, notably two players come to mind. Larry Bird and Bill Russell, although It’s very difficult to ignore a man who won 11 rings in 13 seasons and is considered the greatest defender in NBA history, with that being said Larry Bird was the better individual better and clutch performer.
Bird wasn’t the most athletic, but he made it up for it with his toughness and ability to score from anywhere on the floor. One of the best all-around players and one of the great leaders this game has ever seen.
