Jabari Bird lands multi-year Celtics contract extension. This extension comes after producing spectacular performances in the summer league games. Bird landed the final spot in Boston’s roster after unwavering dedication. Jabari Bird was a 56th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Bird had been flying between the Boston Celtics and G-league Red Claws. This was prior to his one-year season on a two-way deal with Boston. The Celtics organization saw the effort that Bird had committed to the team. Which landed Bird an extension with the Boston Celtics.

Bird worked diligently in the summer league during the NBA postseason. Which clinched Bird the Celtics final roster spot. Bird’s efforts did not go unnoticed by Boston’s franchise during the summer league games. Jabari led the Celtics in the summer games scoring 16.8 points per game with 57% shooting. Jabari remained focus and improved upon his game and showed not only dedication but improvement as well.
The Bird Lands Back In Boston
Jabari Bird flew on high on the offensive end and rebounding abilities during the summer games. Summer League head coach Jay Larranaga stated that Bird has room for improvement on the defensive end.
The 24-year-old shooting guard will soon have his opportunity to improve his defensive skill-set. The Bird has landed back in Boston and under coach Brad Stevens will give Jabari the chance to improve.
Coach Stevens knows how to utilize player rotation as needed giving players minutes on the floor. This gives Jabari Bird an excellent opportunity to build up his defensive skills in the league. When there’s a will, there’s a way, and Jabari Bird has proven that he has that will.
He’ll soon find the way to improve and fit in with coach Stevens style of basketball. This is an opportunity that the indomitable kid will fly high as he becomes more effective defensively.
