Liverpool Complete £67M Alisson Becker Deal From Roma
Sky Sports is reporting that Liverpool has completed £67M deal for Roma’s Alisson Becker. In addition, the goalkeeper is subject to passing a medical and has agreed to a five-year deal at Anfield.
The 25-year-old will undergo his medical with the Reds in the next couple of days after flying to England on a private jet Wednesday. Additionally, the Brazil international is set to become the most expensive goalkeeper in history. The previous record for goalkeeper was put up by Manchester City who paid £34.7m for Ederson in 2017.
Alison becomes the fourth signing by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri were all presented at Anfield earlier in the month.
Roma
While at Roma, Alisson made 49 appearances in all competitions. In addition, Alisson had a save success rate of 801% last season. Only Atletico Madrid Jan Oblak surpasses him with 85.9% success rate. In comparison to Manchester United David De Gea, also considered best GK in Premier League last season, has a success rate of 79.9%.
However, Alisson’s expected goals stats indicates that at Roma of the expected 36 goals an average goal keeper would receive in Serie A, Alisson received 28. However, the difference of eight goals is the highest in Serie A goalkeeper in 2017/18.
Last, Alisson average an impressive 2.71 saves per 90 minutes played. This is more than De Gea’s 2.59, ter Stegen’s average of 2.36 and Oblak’s average of 2.41.
