Cubs Comeback Against Tigers To Win Fifth Straight Game
After beating the living snot out of the Minnesota Twins and then getting an off day. The Cubs came back today and won their fifth straight game after going down early 3-0. Lately, when this team goes down by three or more runs, there’s never a sense of urgency. And The Cubs proved that again today by securing yet another come from behind victory. Something the Cubs lead the MLB in. I don’t know whether or not that’s a good thing or not. However, a win is a win no matter how you come by it. And that’s precisely what the Cubs got today.
Kyle Hendricks Shaky But Gives Cubs A Chance To Win
Kyle Hendricks so far this season hasn’t looked like Kyle Hendricks of the past few years. Sporting an ERA of 4.27, Kyle has barely been able to keep things together when he takes the mound. And that type of pitching style will only get someone so far before it all collapses on them. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to Kyle; however, we have no idea what the future holds. Hendricks did his job today though. Only going five innings, but just gave up three earned runs on the day. He could have been a lot better giving up three runs on seven hits. He did help The Cubs win their fifth straight game. So, there isn’t a lot I can be too upset with.

Offense Comes Back From Behind Yet Again
Like I stated earlier The Cubs lead the league in come from behind wins this season. And it’s cool to know this team is never out no matter the score, and it gives them a different kind of confidence most teams don’t have. Going down early 3-0, and not getting a hit until the fourth inning. Things were looking bleak for The Cubs until the fifth inning came. The Cubs were able to tie the game on a few well-hit line drive doubles. Then The Cubs took the lead in the seventh inning off an Anthony Rizzo force out. And expanded on the lead in the eighth off a Kyle Schwarber home run.
Player Of The Game
Player of the game today goes to the man who deserves respect and a C on his chest. Anthony Rizzo went 1-4 in today’s game but got two very crucial RBIs. Including the game-winning RBI in the seventh inning. Rizzo has fought hard this season at the plate, and he’s had a lot of ups and downs. However, he is turning around at the plate with 12 home runs and 58 RBIs.
