JJ Redick To Re-Sign With The Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers may have struck out on Lebron James, but they were able to keep one of their key players in JJ Redick. Redick is a sharpshooting guard which they desperately need with a non-shooting guy like Ben Simmons being their point guard.
Free agent guard JJ Redick will return to the Philadelphia 76ers on a 1-year deal in the $12M-to-13M range, league sources tell ESPN

What’s Next For Redick And The Sixers?
The 76ers had to get this deal done with Redick. He is their best shooter by far and is a very capable defender. This also helps the Sixers become more willing to add guys like Robert Covington and Dario Saric to a potential Kawhi Leonard trade. If they want Leonard, they’re gonna have to add more assets than they would like to.
Redick is going to get paid a lot of money for the second consecutive season. He is reported to have signed for somewhere in the $12-13 million range. That is down from the $23 million he earned last season.
Unfinished Business
This will help Redick potentially ring chase in the future if that’s what he’d want to do. He’s earned way more money the past two seasons than most teams on the market would ever give him. It’ll make it easier for him when he decides to take less money to try and win a ring.
JJ Redick staying in Philadelphia isn’t all about the money though. They may have landed him last season because of the money, but he really likes playing there. Yeah, the big money he’s getting this season helps, but he likes being a member of their organization.
Redick could even try and stay in Philadelphia for the rest of his career. He will eventually lose his starting job to possibly Markelle Fultz, but he will have a key role as long as he keeps shooting the ball at an elite level.
