Today was the first day of the 2nd annual United Kingdom Tournament and the battle to find Pete Dunne’s next opponent was underway. Below are the results from the United Kingdom Tournament Day 1.

Final Round:
Zack Gibson def. Travis Banks via submission
Zack Gibson will now face Pete Dunne for the United Kingdom Championship during Day 2 of the Tournament tomorrow.
Other Matches:
Toni Storm def. Killer Kelly & Isla Dawn via pinfall to earn a title shot against Shayna Baszler
Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, and Tyler Bate def The Undisputed Era via pinfall
While the tournament matches were well received, the 6-man tag team match was the most popular match of the night.
Reaction:
This was a great first day for the tournament. Each match had its moments of brilliance and every competitor had a chance to show their abilities. Tomorrow’s match between Dunne and Gibson will more than likely be even better!
Adding WWE’s hottest team The Undisputed Era to this event was a smart booking decision. This added interest in the event in-house and worldwide. More people turned into the tournament today because of the addition of The Undisputed Era.
This event also continues WWE’s plan to expand more globally. With WWE promoting major events all over the world, setting up a stable in the United Kingdom is a great idea. This tournament will only continue to build up that stable.
