Villanova Wildcat Mikal Bridges Is A Valuable 2-Way Player

Mikal Bridges became one of the elite two-way players during his three seasons at Villanova. Which makes him a valuable and highly sought after 3-and-D prospect in the 2018 NBA Draft class.

His speed and athleticism along with his height and a 7’1″ wingspan give him the ability to defend as well as knock down shots easily. He was being sought after by the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bridges Can Knock Down Shots

Bridges never shot less than 50% in his three seasons with the Villanova Wildcats. He’s also developed his three-point shooting.

Another outstanding stat during his 2017-2018 with the Wildcats, Bridges shot 60% of his shooting from NBA range. He’s also capable of catching and shooting efficiently from anywhere on the floor.

Bridges Has Rock Solid Defense

Mikal Bridges can defend easily due to his wingspan. He can easily deflect, steal and block the ball. His basketball intuition along with his agility and athleticism makes him an elite defender. He’s able to switch up on pick-and-rolls quickly and can defend several positions.

There Is No Stopping Bridges’ Offensive Abilities

There’s not an easy way to defend Mikal Bridges when he’s attempting shots from the corner, in the zone or freeing up on a pick-and-roll. His ability to knock down long-range shots, mid-range jumpers is another key factor in his two-way game. He’s an unselfish team player and does what he can to contribute.

Philadelphia Trade Bridges To The Phoenix

The Phoenix Suns have traded for Bridges and he will now team up with DeAndre Ayton in Phoenix. An intriguing move by both teams and this could mean that Phoenix mean business next season.

Both prospects have the talent to make some noise next season. A lineup that will have Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges and DeAndre Ayton should do some damage.
