The Possible Return of James Ellsworth

The last time we saw James Ellsworth was on the November 7th episode of SmackDown Live. However, recent reports have stated that there’s a possibility we’ll see the return of the chinless wonder.

A Refresher on James Ellsworth

As already stated, the last time we saw James Ellsworth was on SmackDown Live in November of last year. That was when he faced Becky Lynch one on one in an intergender match. He lost, and after the match, he was attacked by his former partner and now current SmackDown Women’s Champion, Carmella. This marked his final appearance on WWE programming just a short time later.

On November 15th of last year, it was announced that Ellsworth had been released from the WWE and wished well in his future.

James Ellsworth would go on to wrestle on the independent scene. He made appearances for Destiny Pro Wrestling and also made an appearance for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood. While on the independent scene, he faced the likes of current WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne. He would then take on Nick Aldis and Joey Ryan as well during his time on the independent wrestling scene.

Future of Money In The Bank

Ellsworth could be returning once again to the WWE at this year’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

This event will be streaming live this Sunday on the WWE Network. And, if you don’t have the WWE Network, it’s free for new subscribers!

Additionally, it’s been reported that James could be involved in either the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match or the SmackDown Women’s Championship match, where Asuka will take on Carmella.

However, Ellsworth could cost Carmella the match and allow for Asuka to win. Otherwise, he could join forces once again with the current champion to help her retain the belt.

What would a return to the WWE mean for James Ellsworth? Feel free to comment below and let us know your thoughts.
