The Underdogs Receive Their Icy Championship Rings

It’s the moment that all Philadelphia fans have been waiting for. The Philadelphia Eagles finally received their icy championship rings on Thursday night. It’s a night that Philly fans have been waiting 57 years to witness. Eagles fans from all over the world were watching anxiously as player after player received their individual championship ring box.

A night that no Philly fan will ever forget. Former Eagles players like LeGarrette Blount, Mychal Kendricks, and Torrey Smith were in attendance to receive their rings. It was a beautiful sight for Eagles fans to see their players finally receive their awards for their hard work.

These Icy Championship Rings Are Unique In Their Own Way

Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie spoke to the players before the parade about the rings. He mentioned that the Eagles players wanted something “demonstrative,” “big” and “blingy.” Lurie wanted to embrace that concept.

The ring is made of 10-karat gold and decorated with 219 diamonds and 17 green sapphires. What makes this ring unique is that it pays tribute to the legendary “Philly Special.”

127 diamonds for all three players involved in the trick play that rocked Super Bowl LII. The bezel of the ring has 88 diamonds for Trey Burton, 30 for Corey Clement and 9 for Nick Foles.

The inside of the ring has a dog mask which pays tribute to the underdog role the Eagles adopted in the postseason.

Meek Mill And Rick Ross Performed For The Eagles After The Ceremony

It’s not a secret that the Eagles’ anthem all season was Meek Mill’s Dreams and Nightmares. The team picked the song as their Super Bowl entrance song. In fact, it’s more than just a song for this team.

The song is a symbol that represents the resiliency and attitude of this great team. A group left for dead due to injuries and inexperience. A team that no one expected to win in the postseason.

Despite all the controversy, the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. Guess what? These hungry dogs still want more.
