NJPW Confirms Super Juniors Tournament Lineup
Recently, New Japan Pro Wrestling or NJPW announced their full lineup for their Best of Super Juniors Tournament that concludes next month. Below is the list of participants.
In Block A: ACH, Bushi, Flip Gordon, Taiji Ishimori, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Tiger Mask IV, Will Ospreay, Yoh
In Block B: Dragon Lee, El Desperado, Marty Scurll, Chris Sabin, Sho, Ryusuke Taguchi, Hiromu Takahashi, Kushida
Among the big names that will be part of this tournament will be Will Ospreay. The young superstar has been on a hot streak ever since winning the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship. Due to his recent hot streak, Ospreay could be considered one of the favorites to win this tournament.
Another possible favorite is Marty Scrull. The Villian is currently NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion with The Young Bucks but also has an established singles career as well. This was proven by his spectacular match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 VS Will Ospreay. Similar to Ospreay, The Villian will be a tough out in this tournament.
The final takes place at Dominion next month and the winner gets a shot at the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship at the PPV.
Reaction
This sounds like it’s going to be a fun tournament. Adding stars like Ospreay and Scrull will only add to the excitement of the tournament. Also, adding these names will keep people engaged until we reached the tournament final next month.
Having a tournament like this is usually a really good way to show off your young and upcoming talent. So while it will be exciting to see if Ospreay or Scrull go all the way to the end, it will most likely be someone who NJPW wants to push to the main event in the future.
