Washington DT Vita Vea Selected 12th Overall By Tampa Bay
Washington DT Vita Vea; the PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year; is one huge defensive lineman. The Morris Trophy winner was part of the number one defensive team in the PAC-12 in 2017. Vea started all 13 games for the Huskies in 2017 and became a pillar in Chris Petersen’s defense.
Experts like Peter King believe he can be the new Ndamukong Suh. While Mel Kiper Jr. regarded him versatile having played all three line positions and a run-stopper.
Vea recorded 65 solo tackles, 34 assisted tackles, and 9.5 sacks in three years with Washington.
Draft factoid of the day: Washington DT Vita Vea's full name is Tevita Tuliakiono Tuipuloto Mosese Va'hae Faletau Vea. So Vita Vea works nicely.
