Avi Garcia Injures His Hamstring: Leaves The Game In The 2nd

After running out a groundball in the bottom of the second inning, Avi Garcia injures his hamstring. The White Sox right fielder now faces a set back to his solid start in the 2018 season. Garcia fell clutching his leg in pain and exited the game in the second inning. He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday.

Garcia is currently hitting .225/.243/.310 with 1 homer and 3 RBIs. He is coming off of his best season to date, in which he made the all-star team. He also hit .330/.380/.506 with 18 homers and 80 RBIs in 2017.

Hopefully, the injury is not too serious. The Sox currently amidst a rebuild, and have the option of keeping Garcia for the future or trading him near the deadline. Either way, the White Sox would like to see him healthy and on the field.

Trayce Thompson would go on to replace Avi in right for the remainder of the game. The White Sox would go on to win the game 10-4 after impressive performances from Jose Abreu and Yoan Moncada. Abreu finished 4 for 5 with two home runs, and Moncada finished 3 for 5 with a single short of the cycle.

Carson Fulmer also had an impressive start going 6 innings with 3 strikeouts, 2 earned runs and walking 1 to get a win. Chris Beck came in relief to finish the game allowing 2 earned runs with 1 strikeout. This was a much-needed win for the White Sox as the bats finally started to heat up after they only scored 2 runs in the previous series against Houston.
