World Series Game Three Preview
Tonight, the Rays and Dodgers will go head-to-head in game three of the World Series. The Rays will send Charlie Morton (2-2 with a 4.74 ERA) to the mound to face-off against Dodgers starter Walker Buehler (1-0 with a 3.44 ERA). Morton has been spectacular this postseason. He is 3-0 with a 0.57 ERA with 17 strikeouts. For Walker Buehler, he has also been great this postseason. Buehler is 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA with 29 strikeouts (the second-most in the 2020 playoffs). Tonight is surely going to be a great pitching duel.
What To Expect Out Of Game Three
The key for both teams is to get to the starting pitcher early. Both Morton and Buehler have been great this postseason. Any chance that either team can rattle them even just a little bit will prove to be a great advantage.
For the Rays, their offense needs to build-off of game two. Their offense woke up and started to get some momentum going. They will look for Brandon Lowe to build on his game two performance and hope that Randy Arozarena, Willy Adames, Kevin Kiermaier, and others can also contribute a little bit more. It can’t be said enough, the big key for the Rays offense is to not rely solely on the home run ball. They were better with that in game two and will need to continue it to beat the Dodgers.
For the Dodgers, they need a repeat of game one. They were firing on all cylinders and looked unstoppable. In game two, they were shut down by Blake Snell at the start of the game and their offense did not get going until late in the game. They will need to get to Morton early and start taxing the Rays bullpen.
