Rays Take Game Two Of World Series

The Tampa Bay Rays took game two of the World Series by a final score of 6-4. Brandon Lowe finally broke out for the Rays and gave them two-homer and three RBIs. The two teams will be off tomorrow and will kick-off game three on Friday as Charlie Morton will take on Walker Buehler.

Game Recap

Blake Snell was fantastic for the Rays in game two. Snell went 4 and 2/3 innings allowing two runs on two hits with nine strikeouts. Snell also did not allow a hit until Chris Taylor hit a two-run homer in the fifth. The Rays bullpen was strong again minimizing the damage as Diego Castillo shut the door on a game two win. The Dodgers went with more of a bullpen approach. Tony Gonsolin went just 1 and 1/3 innings allowing one run on one hit with one strikeout.

On the offensive front, the Rays finally started to bust out. Their best hitter in 2020, Brandon Lowe, finally broke out and hit two homers and three RBIs. Joey Wendle also had a great night as he finished with a two-run double and a sac fly in the sixth.

For the Dodgers, they were quiet offensively until the fifth when Chris Taylor broke through with a two-run homer. In the sixth, Will Smith hit his first career World Series homer. And then in the eighth, Corey Seager struck yet again with a solo shot, his seventh of the postseason. They will look to rebound against Charlie Morton in game three who has been great this postseason.

Keys Going Into Game Three

Two games into the series and both sides are shaping up to make for a great series. The Rays need to continue to break out offensively and get another big outing from Charlie Morton. For the Dodgers, Walker Buehler just needs to do his thing. Their offense is too good to stay quiet for long.
