World Series Game 2 Preview
Tonight, the Rays will look to get in the win column and even the World Series with the Dodgers at one game apiece. The Rays will send Blake Snell (4-2 with a 3.24 ERA) to the mound to take on Tony Gonsolin (2-2 with a 2.31 ERA). Snell will look to pitch past the fifth inning for the first time since the Wild Card round. He is 2-2 with a 3.20 ERA this postseason. For Gonsolin, he will look to rebound after a shaky NLCS performance where he gave up seven runs over 6 and 1/3 innings.
What To Expect Out Of Game Two
For the Dodgers, expect the same as last night. The offense will be ready to attack early. And if the top of the lineup gets on base, expect a track meet to ensue and watch them run crazy. The key is to get to Snell early. If the Dodgers can keep getting to the Rays bullpen, they have a very good chance to go up 2-0. The Rays bullpen is great. However, taxing that bullpen is what the Dodgers are after.
For the Rays, the offense needs to step up. They are one big hit away from breaking out. But who is going to get it? Brandon Lowe and Willy Adames have been relatively quiet this postseason and are looking to bust out. Randy Arozarena was also silent in game one and with one swing, can easily get the Rays going again.
