College Football
As college football season has some what came to an end, and we currently don’t have screaming at the end of your seats events right now, but however there is something more. During the off season of college football or any sport for that matter, you will see team change ups. New players, and most all new coaching staff, ext.
It turns out that the West Virginia Mountaineers are getting a new coaching staff all around, and this meant a change for former West Virginia defensive coordinator Tony Gibson would need to find a new home. Gibson’s new home is with the NC State Wolfpack.
NC State Hires New Defensive Coordinator
Coach Dave Doeran of NC State, said that Tony Gibson will be the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach. Gibson has helped linebacker David Long into the Big 12 defensive player of the year in 2018, and helped lead the Mountaineers’ defense for the past five years. He left West Virginia during the head coaching transition from Dana Holgorsen to Neal Brown.
Gibson will work alongside defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable with the Wolfpack. He fills the vacancy created when Ted Roof left after one season for Appalachian State, and former N.C. State offensive coordinator Eliah Drinkwitz was hired as head coach.
What exactly does this mean for the Wolfpack now?
Nobody knows where this will take the Wolfpack this upcoming season. There is a lot of switch a roos in coaching stuff and players in the whole NCAA, we are bound to see changes in all of the teams.
Stick around for more of the NC State Wolfpack this football season!
