Week 11 of Mountaineer football has came to an end, and it was a very sad day for the blue and gold spirit of West Virginia. The Cowboys had the upper hand on Saturday, and it was a close game, but the Mountaineers couldn’t get the win. What really happened in Oklahoma? Let’s take a look at why West Virginia Falls to 8-2.

West Virginia Mountaineers
After an edge of your seat game, the Mountaineers fall to 8-2. Quarterback Will Grier managed to have 364 passing yards, 2 touchdowns. Running back Kennedy McKoy had 21 carries, 148 rushing yards, and 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver David Sills V had 4 receives, 68 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown. Also, wide receiver Gary Jennings Jr, had 7 receives, 92 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown. Where will this put West Virginia in the rankings? Will they stay at number 9, or will they fall out of the top 10?
Oklahoma State Cowboys
The Cowboys managed to knock the Mountaineers to 8-2, and sent them back to Morgantown, with a loss. Oklahoma State went to 6-5. Quarterback Taylor Cornelius had 338 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 106 yards. Running back Chuba Hubbard had 26 carries, 134 rushing yards, and wide receiver Dillion Stoner had 9 receives with a total of 127 receiving yards.
Final Score: 45-41
What’s Next?
The Mountaineers will host the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday, November 23rd. Can the Mountaineers bounce back after a loss from the Cowboys? Or will they fall to 8-3. Where will the Mountaineers end up for a bowl game?
Oklahoma State will head to Texas to take on the TCU Horned Frogs. Will the Cowboys be able to move to 7-5 or just fall to 6-6?
