Penn State On The Road Against Rutgers

The Penn State Nittany Lions are hitting the road one last time this season, when they match-up against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Penn State is on the road against Rutgers. Let’s check out the preview!

Preview

Penn State heads to the Garden State (New Jersey) when they face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in their final game of the Big Ten East conference play on the road. When Penn State and Rutgers meet, Penn State has a commanding advantage in the series history as both teams have faced each other 28 times, and Penn State has won 26 times compared to Rutgers’ two games.

Additionally, Penn State has an even game win streak (1989-2017). Penn State won last year’s contest 35-6 at Happy Valley. However, the year before that (2016) they blew the Scarlets Knights out on the road by the score of 39-0. The same game in which Penn State fans (mainly students) took control of HighPoint Solutions Stadium.

Penn State

The Nittany Lions come into this contest as winners of their last couple games (Wisconsin and Indiana). Nittany Lions was led by Trace McSorley, Miles Sanders’ and K.J. Hamler. Penn State offense has been learning its identity and how to function.

Penn State is currently standing in third place in the Big Ten East Standings, and is 7-3 overall and 4-3 conference play. They need to beat the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to keep the momentum flowing and continue to fight hard for a nice bowl game (which they can still accomplish).

Rutgers

The Scarlet Knights are currently rebuilding a program and it’s evident. with a 1-9 overall and 0-7 conference record, they’re ranked last in the Big Ten East. Penn State is currently No. 14 in the nation and the Scarlet Knights haven’t seemed to find a formula that has been able to stop Penn State at all.

Rutgers looks to bring a challenge but have been decimated by Big Ten East play thus far.

Conclusion

This weekend, Penn State is on the road against Rutgers. Penn State and Rutgers will kickoff at Noon, Eastern time on the Big Ten Network from HighPoint Solution Staduim in Piscataway, New Jersey. Penn State is a nice favorite to win the game.
