Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers NLCS Game 7 Preview
So I think we can all agree that the two best words in sports are “Game 7”. You either win, or you go home. The fans come out, managers must pull out all the stops, and it is just great. Today we will get another great game, and it will be the Dodgers and the Brewers facing off at Miller Park. Winner gets a date with the Red Sox, loser goes home. What can we expect from this game? Let’s find out!
Pitching
The Starting pitching matchup will be the rookie sensation Walker Buhler for the Dodgers, and Jhoulys Chacin for the Brewers. This is a rematch of the pitching matchup in game 3 in LA. These two guys can pitch very well and they will be looking to do all they can to bring their teams a win. Walker Buhler has looked very good in the recent games he has played. He pitched very well in game 163 against Colorado and he pitched very well against Milwaukee in game 3 despite being tagged with the loss. And Jhoulys Chacin has also been very well in the game he has pitched in. But the thing I want to talk about are the bullpens. In a game 7, the bullpen can be called into action very early. The two guys to watch are Josh Hader and Kenley Jansen. Both are two guys that can shut down any lineup at any time. I expect both of these guys to go either two or possibly three innings of work near the late innings. Other bullpen pieces to look for are Pedro Baez of the Dodgers and Jeremy Jeffries of the Brewers.
The Bats
While the pitching will play a key role, I think that whichever team gets the bats rolling sooner, will win this game. Guys like Manny Machado and Christan Yelich will need to come up big. Jesus Aguilar and Mike Moustakas both were hitting below .150 this NLCS and they both got RBI’s last night. Chris Taylor and Max Muncy will show up. Whoever gets the bats going first will win this game.
My Prediction
Now with all of this information, its time to make a prediction. This matchup is so close you may as well flip a coin. Both teams are even with pitching, hitting, bullpen, and that’s why this series is even at three games to three. But, if I was a betting man, it would take the Brewers in this game. They are coming off the momentum with the huge game 6 wins. Yelich came out of his slump, their pitching has been producing, and they have been looking like a complete team. My score prediction is Dodgers – 5 Brewers – 6. But, this will be a great game and I can’t wait to watch. First pitch is at 8:06 ET.
