Brewers Force Game 7 After Huge Win Against Dodgers

The Brewers had a huge 7-2 win against the Dodgers last night to force a Game 7 in the NLCS. The winner of tonight’s game will go on to face the Boston Red Sox in the World Series. Wade Miley went 4 1/3 innings allowing two runs, five hits, two walks, and four strikeouts. The two runs were the first Miley has given up all postseason. For the Dodgers, Hyun-Jin Ryu struggled. He went just three innings allowing five runs, seven hits, two walks, and three strikeouts. The Brewers bullpen maintained their dominance as they held the Dodgers quite the rest of the way. Game 7 is set for tonight between Walker Buehler and Jhoulys Chacin.

Game Recap

Dodgers first baseman David Freese got the scoring started quick. In the first inning, Freese blasted a leadoff homer to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. The Brewers bats would respond quickly. Jesus Aguilar smacked a two-run double to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead in the first. Later that inning, Mike Moustakas hit an RBI double, and catcher Erik Kratz hit an RBI single to the give the Brew Crew a 4-1 lead in the first. The Brewers would add on a fifth run in the second with an RBI double courtesy of Ryan Braun.

The Dodgers got a run back in the fifth with an RBI double from David Freese, but that would be all the offense from the Dodgers. In the seventh, Jesus Aguilar scored on a wild pitch and then had an RBI single in the eighth to give the Brewers a 7-2 lead. Brewers rookie Corbin Burnes came in to shut the door on a Game 6 Brew Crew win.

Preview for Game 7

The Dodgers are sending rookie Walker Buehler to the mound to take on Jhoulys Chacin of the Brewers. Buehler has struggled in this postseason as he carries a 6.75 ERA across twelve innings this postseason. On the other side, Jhoulys Chacin has been strong this postseason posting a 10 1/3 scoreless innings streak, and a 2.28 ERA dating back to August 8th. Game 7 should be a good one like always! You can catch Game 7 at 8:09 pm EST o FS1.
