College Football
Week 6 of college football has came to an end; and MAN did we have some upsets. The Mountaineers’ program was one that took a fall this week! The undefeated streak ended! What exactly happened in Iowa on Saturday? Let’s take a look into the recap of the game.
Undefeated Streak Ended
The Cyclones of Iowa State were able to make an upset of the week, when they ended the winning streak of the Mountaineers of West Virginia. In fact, it was a blow out.
Iowa State
Quarterback Brock Purdy had 254 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. The Cyclones were prepared and were able to come out with a win. Will they keep on winning, or will they miss out again? Cyclones have a bye week next week, so that gives them a week to prepare for Texas Tech; that game will be on 10/29, with a record of 3-3.
West Virginia
Quarterback Will Grier did not have a good game. Grier normally averages 250 or more passing yards during a game, but against Iowa State he came up short. Grier had 100 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. After a 30-14 loss to the Cyclones, the Mountaineers dropped from number six to number thirteen in the rankings. The Mountaineers’ next game is Thursday October 25, and they will host a 4-3 Baylor squad. The record for West Virginia is now 5-1. Will the Mountaineers be able to bounce back, or will they just fall short again?
