MLB

So Cain and Yelich of the Brewers have beaten Baez and Rizzo of the Cubs in their 163rd game of the 2018 season and now, the Brewers have won the NL Central and will have home field advantage in the playoffs. As for the Cubs, they will be taking on the loser of the Rockies and Dodgers. At the time of writing, the Dodgers and Rockies have just started. The Brewers won 3-1 and it was a good game to watch.

Brewers Draw First Blood

Both pitchers were doing fine until the 3rd inning. The Brewers had Orlando Arcia on at 3rd with 2 outs, and NL MVP candidate Christian Yelich at the plate. He took a very good pitch by Jose Quintana up the middle for a base hit as Arcia scores and the Brew Crew take an early 1-0 lead.

Rizzo’s Bomb

The Brewers took this 1-0 lead to the 5th inning, when Anthony Rizzo stepped to  the plate. Chacin gave him a fastball right down the middle and Rizzo didn’t miss it. He took the pitch all the way to Sheffield and out of Wrigley field and the game was tied 1-1.

Brew Crew Pull Away in 8th

Going onto the 8th the game was still tied 1-1, so it was going to come down to the wire. But the Cubs ran into trouble with a runner on 2nd and 3rd and nobody out. With the game in his hands, Lorenzo Cain came through with a single, and Arcia scored again to make it 2-1, and after a Yelich strike out, Ryan Braun got another single bringing in another run to make it 3-1. With this lead, the Brewers turned to their stud reliever Josh Hader. Hader was dominant as he got 2 strike outs in the 8th and going into the 9th, Javy Baez was on 1st with 2 outs and the batter was Anthony Rizzo.  Rizzo hit a blast into right, but it hung up just enough so give the Brewers the division.

The Brewers will take on the winner of the NL Wild Card and the Cubs will play in the Wild Card against either the Dodgers or Rockies.
