Arizona State vs Oregon State Preview
After a gruelling game where ASU came up just short against Washington, they now go into a pseudo off week as they host Oregon State at home before going to play an undefeated Colorado team. Oregon State continues to search for a win, after losing to Arizona 35-14, to avoid deregulation to the NAIA.
Arizona State
After a roller coaster September that went from winning a massive game against Michigan State to getting upset by San Diego State, the team hopes to use this week against a terrible Beavers team to settle down as they enter conference play. Overall, the defense has looked better under the new scheme, though the offense hasn’t been as potent as years previous, a result of the slower, older school-style of coach Edwards. This week is a good time to get the offense back up to its full potential. Especially if they can get more out of Harry, who only caught five passes for 20 yards in the Washington game.
Oregon State
There is not much to say about this team. They have looked horrible on both sides of the ball. The coaching is uninspiring. And they have lost every game so far by a good amount. This team doesn’t look like Power Five, much less a Group of Five team. And it’s getting sadder by the week.
Prediction
This game will get ugly, and it will get ugly quick. I see a final score of 55-10, though it wouldn’t be surprising if it was by a bigger margin. If there was an ASU game to not watch this season, It’s probably this one. And neither team’s uniforms this week will look good, considering the images I saw of ASU’s combination earlier today. At least Herm killed the turnover curls in an effort to kill off this stupid turnover chain epidemic.
