The Cross Town Classic Comes To Wrigley Field

It’s that time of the year again folks, The White Sox, and The Cubs will start the Cross Town Classic on Friday and look to continue their three-game win streak. There are a lot of good things to look forward to this weekend. The most important thing for me is how the offense will carry over from the Marlins series. The White Sox have struggled so far this season, and by the way, the Cubs have been playing. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Cubs had another sweep in their immediate future.

Pitching

The matchups for the Cubs come this next series is a favorable one at best. For Friday’s game, the Cubs have the ground baller, Tyler Chatwood on the mound. For Saturday’s game, the Cubs have Jon Lester who has been finding his groove in his past couple of starts. And for the Cross Town Classic series finale, The Cubs have Kyle Hendricks on the mound who has been brilliant in his previous two starts. This series is the perfect time for our starters to go deep. And let our bullpen rest to get back to full strength. The White Sox offense has struggled as of late, so this will be a good chance to retake the lead in the Central.

What To Expect From The Offense

After torching Miami for 31 runs in three games. The Cubs offense seems to be back to their standard form playing at everyone’s expectations. Like the pitching, The Cubs offense has a very favorable matchup going into this weekend. Facing off against a struggling White Sox rotation that is almost dead last in every major pitching category. I don’t think the offense will have any trouble hitting against this rotation. Do I think the Cubs will score 30+ runs in three games? Probably not, but I do believe they will sweep the White Sox no problem.
