The First Home Win for Chris Sale

Rocky Start

It’s no secret that the reigning World Series champion Chris Sale is not off to the best start. Chris Sale is currently sporting a 4-9 record with a regular season ERA that’s the highest ever of  10 year career. Sale is a two season strikeout lead leader, and an all-time leader for strikeouts per 9 innings. However this season he has been completely out character. Sale hadn’t won a game at Fenway Park before July 18. Last season he allowed only 37 runs the whole season, while this season he has already allowed 53 runs. The veteran lefty has always been The Guy since arriving in Boston, he’s their ace and when he struggles it hurts the morale of the whole team.

During the World Series last season he was the most dominant that he has ever been. He lost one game throughout the whole Postseason against arguably one of the most dominant teams in all of Professional Baseball. Even though he lost at the hands of the Astros he still managed to strike out 12 batters. The Fenway faithful have been longing for the return of the dominant Sale that just pitched against the Blue Jays and recorded his first home win of the season.

First Home Win

Chris Sale came out and absolutely overpowered the whole Toronto Blue Jays lineup. He truly came out and pitched like the Chris Sale of the past. He ended up pitching 6 innings and recorded a non complete game shut out. Sale only allowed 2 hits and 2 walks during his outing. Unbelievably he struck out 12 of the 18 outs that he was pitching for. Just putting it as simply as possible, if Chris Sale keeps pitching the way he proved he could against Toronto the whole league has just been put on notice. Chris Sale is beginning to return to the ferocious postseason version of himself and if he gains momentum the sky’s the limit because he simply would be unstoppable.
