Harvick Looks For Playoff Win In Kansas

Kevin Harvick continues to carry his momentum through this season’s NASCAR Playoffs. Currently, there are only two drivers above Harvick in the playoff standings. This is due to both of them earning wins in this round. As he approaches Kansas, he hopes to add his name to that list. Doing so would claim a career-best 8th win this season for the California native.

Throughout the first 5 races in the 2018 NASCAR Playoffs, Kevin has come close to winning many times. A few weeks ago at Dover, his 286 lap dominant run was put to rest by a broken valve stem. Then just last weekend, an overtime finish at Talladega left the 4 car out of fuel after leading 46 laps. If any car in the field this weekend deserves a victory, it’s the 4 team.

“It’s one thing to dominate a race all day and win – that’s great,” Harvick told NASCAR.com. “But, making a last-lap pass, an end-of-the-race pass or winning on a day when you’re not supposed to, there is just no better feeling than getting out of the car and looking at those guys. Having the rest of the field asking how was he able to win today.  Those are the types of moments I love to be a part of. We’ve been fortunate to experience a lot of those. That’s the adrenaline rush that comes with what we do. There is no better feeling than those particular moments.”

Harvick’s Kansas Stats

Harvick has competed in 25 races at Kansas Speedway in his NASCAR Cup Series career. Going into this weekend’s event, Kevin has 3 wins, 14 top tens, 8 top fives, as well as 4 poles. He also has a 9.6 average finish on the heartland track. The team also has much-needed momentum by being the most recent winners in Kansas. Can that momentum punch his ticket to the round of 8? Tune into Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 to find out.
