Brewers Set to Take on Dodgers in Game 1 of NLCS

After sweeping the Rockies in the divisional round, the Brew Crew is ready to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. The winner of this series will advance to the World Series to take on either the Houston Astros or the Boston Red Sox. The Brewers are sending left Gio Gonzalez to the mound to take on Dodgers ace, Clayton Kershaw. On the year between the Nationals and Brewers, Gio Gonzalez is 10-11 with a 4.21 ERA with 148 strikeouts. The other side stands arguably one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history: Clayton Kershaw. On the year, Kershaw is 9-5 with a 2.73 ERA with 155 strikeouts. After an injury-plagued 2018, Kershaw looks to continue his dominance. Game 1 can be seen at 8:09 pm EST on FS1.

Bullpen Looks to Continue Dominance Against Dodgers

One of the key contributors to the Brewers success in the NLDS and all season long is their bullpen. The Brewers bullpen had one hiccup in the divisional round when Jeremy Jeffress blew the save in the first game. After that, the Brewers bullpen did not allow a single run the rest of the way. The Brewers bullpen finished the last two games of the series with 9 1/3 innings, zero runs, four hits, two walks, and thirteen strikeouts. The Brewers bullpen looks to continue their dominance, and keep a dangerous Dodgers lineup in check.

Yelich, Shaw, Brewers Bats Look to Continue to Rake

Along with their dominant bullpen, the Brewers offense has been dangerous thus far. Led by MVP-candidate Christian Yelich, the Brewers offense outscored the Rockies 13-2. Though Yelich hit just .250 in the series, other key offensive pieces picked up some slack. Ryan Braun hit .385 in the series, Travis Shaw hit a solid .364, and catcher Erik Kratz .625 with two huge RBIs in Game 3. At 38 years old, Kratz has proved to be a huge offensive threat for the Brewers in this series. The offense will look to make a big jump on Clayton Kershaw to take Game 1 of the series.
