Yankees Look to Even ALDS Against Red Sox

After a nail-biting finish to last night’s game, the Yankees look to bounce back to even the series against the Red Sox. The Yankees will send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound to take on Red Sox starter David Price. On the year, Tanaka is 12-6 with a 3.75 ERA along with 159 strikeouts. On the other side, David Price is 16-7 with a 3.58 ERA and177 strikeouts.

During his last two starts of the regular season, Tanaka struggled by allowing eight runs over eight innings during those games. Against the Red Sox in the regular season, Tanaka has a 7.58 ERA and a 1.44 ERA in the postseason. He’ll look to get the Yankees back on track and even the series. Game two can be seen on TBS at 8:15 pm EST.

Luke Voit Looks to Continue Raking for Yankees

One of the most under-appreciated trades of the deadline was the Yankees acquiring Luke Voit from the St. Louis Cardinals. Voit has absolutely raked for the Yankees since coming over to the Bronx. Voit has seen a lot of playing time, a lot of home runs, and a lot of offensive production. In 39 games for the Yankees, Voit has a slash-line of .333/.405/.689 and 14 homers. In the month of September, Luke Voit also has the fourth-best OPS in the American League. Voit will continue to be a dominant force for the Yankees as they look for their 28th World Series title.

The Importance of the Yankees “Stealing” a Game

A best-of-five series is always a complicated task, especially when you do not have home-field advantage. A Yankees win will send the series to the Bronx at one game apiece. The series will have two more games there before coming back for a fifth game (if necessary). Stealing a game will give the Yankees a lot of momentum as they head back home to their loud/loyal Yankee fanbase. Tonight can be a big flip in the series if the Yankees can come away with the win.
