Brewers Set For Game 2 Against The Rockies
After a wild walk-off winner to take Game 1 of the NLDS the Brewers look to head to Colorado up two games to none. The Brewers are sending Jhoulys Chacin to the mound against Rockies starter Tyler Anderson. On the year, Chacin is 15-8 with a 3.50 ERA and 156 strikeouts. On the other side, Tyler Anderson is 7-9 with a 4.55 ERA and 164 strikeouts. With the exciting finish to Game 1, the Brewers look to keep it up against Anderson, a starter they are hitting .278 off of (Ryan Braun is batting .625 off Anderson). Game 2 will begin at 4:15 pm EST on FS1.
Brew Crew Looks To Continue The Momentum Into Game 2
The first game of the series certainly lived up to expectations. After blowing a 2-0 lead in the ninth, Mike Moustakas came up clutch in the tenth with a walk-off single. The Brewers are sending their “ace” Chacin to the mound to head up Colorado needing one more win to advance. Last time Chacin pitched was in Game 163 against the Cubs. He went 5.2 innings allowing one hit, one run, two walks, and three strikeouts. His ERA on the year is currently at 3.50, the best among the Brewers starting pitchers. The projected Rockies lineup for tonight has a .254 average against Chacin. DJ LeMahieu is the biggest threat as he is hitting .400 off of him in his career. If Game 2 is anything like Game 1, this series will certainly be a good one to watch.
The first game of the series went almost exactly as planned for the Brewers. They got quality, shutout innings from their openers/bullpen and their offense contributed thanks to Christian Yelich. The only hiccup was Jeremy Jeffress in the ninth inning. If Jeffress can return to his dominant self, the Brewers bullpen will remain on lockdown the rest of the way.
