Cubs Score Fourteen Runs On Twenty Hits In Game Two Win over Twins

It’s been an odd past two weeks for The Cubs and all their fans. Going on a five-game losing streak while only being able to score more than three runs once in the five-game losing streak. Now we turn to this week, The Cubs are on a three-game winning streak and have managed to score more than ten runs or more in all three games. It’s a wild turn of events, to say the least, scoring fourteen runs on twenty hits.

Tyler Chatwood Becomes A Dad And Still Struggles

Most of the time when a player gets married or has their first child. They hit a hot streak in the way they perform, but Chatwood was not lucky whatsoever. Maybe chalk it up to the heat and it being a pure hitters day. However, Chatwood was worse than usual in today’s start. Going just 5 IP giving up seven hits and seven earned runs. The Twins starting pitcher didn’t do any better, so it gives you the confidence knowing it wasn’t only Tyler. If there is one thing Chatwood did do well today, it was keeping down on the walks. However, when you give up seven runs, it doesn’t matter.

Offense Implodes For Third Straight Game

In the previous three games, The Cubs offense has been able to produce 35 runs flattening both teams they faced. Scoring fourteen runs on twenty hits is nice to see The Cubs are hitting like that. And if it were any other team, I wouldn’t think anything about it. However, most of the times when The Cubs go multiple games scoring a mass amount of runs. Sooner rather than later they will heavily digress in production. And it’s a very odd and frustrating thing to deal with as a fan, and I bet as a player as well. Cubs close out the series against The Twins tomorrow at 1:20 P.M. starting pitchers are Lance Lynn and Jon Lester.

Player Of The Game

The whole team can be mentioned that’s how well they have played this game. However, only one man can get the distinction of player of the game. So, today it goes to Jason Heyward, who has been hitting amazingly. Hitting .327 in June, with three home runs and 16 RBIs. His 2018 average has climbed all the way up to a .291 along with 37 RBIs on the season. Jason Heyward certainly seems like a completely different person when he is at the plate. Compared to a few years past in which he wasn’t productive at all.
