CONCORD, N.C. – Brexton Busch, the 8-year-old son of Kyle Busch, has already picked up wins and track championships in his young racing career.

The Busch family is not lacking in racing experience. Uncle Kurt and father Kyle are the winningest brothers in NASCAR history, combining for three Cup Series championships. With that stout pedigree, Brexton Busch is far from lacking in qualified teachers.

During his time with the media on Friday ahead of the Coca-Cola 600, Kyle Busch was asked about Brexton’s racing style. It was here when he mentioned an incentive he’s used to help him. What is that method? Taking his iPad and making him earn it back.

“Every driver is different, right?” Kyle Busch said. “If I had to say what’s his weakness, he’s a little tentative at times. But, he’s also been aggressive at times and has gotten himself where he might spin somebody out or spin himself out and then he gets sent to the back.”

“He doesn’t want to get sent to the back so he’d rather not make a pass and ride in that position than have to go back all the way to the tail of the field. He’s actually a lot smarter than I might give him credit for a lot of the time. He really does do a good job of calculation and thinking through things. When he listens, he does a great job.”

“Earlier this year, I think at Millbridge, he didn’t try very hard and got his iPad taken away for two weeks. Then he asked me the next week can I have my iPad back. I said you can go earn it back tonight and he goes out there and wins the race, so he gets his iPad back.”
