Ryan Preece to Drive No. 60 RFK Racing Ford in 2025

CONCORD, N.C. – Announced Tuesday, RFK racing will once again field three full-time NASCAR Cup Series teams in 2025, welcoming Ryan Preece. The 34-year-old Connecticut driver will be behind the wheel of the No. 60 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, with primary sponsorship from Kroger. Preece will join a stacked veteran lineup of perennial winner Chris Buescher, alongside co-owner and past Cup champion Brad Keselowski.

Preece has spent the last two seasons with Stewart-Haas Racing, piloting the No. 41 Ford on Sundays. This duration saw a best result of fifth for Preece, one of seven top-10s. Past success for Preece includes a pair of victories across part-time stints in both Trucks and Xfinity. Preece is also the 2013 Whelen Modified Tour champion.

Prior to joining RFK Racing, Preece did have a past relationship with Kroger, driving their cars for JTG Daugherty Racing from 2019-2021.

“When we were walking through those doors it reminded me of 2019 when I first got my tour around here at Kroger,” Preece said. “To have the opportunity to be racing with them again and with an elite organization like RFK. I’m a racer. I’m somebody that wants to win races. I want to compete for championships. My entire career has certainly been unorthodox, but I have unfinished business and I want to win really bad. I’m eager and ready to get to the Clash and get to Daytona and finish out that goal.”

“I like wearing hats, especially hats in Victory Lane,” said Brad Keselowski. “It’s more opportunities to do just that. Having a third team that gives us another shot at the win on any given weekend. That’s a great opportunity for us at RFK and to piggyback on what Steve was saying, our goal is to be an elite organization, I would say a world-class organization, and to do that in NASCAR you’ve got to win races and the more teams you have, the better that opportunity is to do so, the better the opportunity it is to elevate all the programs. I think we’re looking at it in just that way. It’s a shot to bolster our entire program and to be able to do that, to be a world-class organization, you’ve got to have world-class partners and when I think of Kroger I think of it as a blue chip brand, not just in our sport, but in our world, so we’re fortunate to be associated and to be partnered with Kroger. We’re bringing a lot of talent to our company. Ryan Preece is one of them, but a lot more talent to go with that with crew chiefs and race engineers and pit crew members – all of the pieces that we need to be a perennial threat to win on any given Sunday. It’s really an exciting time for me and I don’t mind wearing those hats because I know that’s what it’s gonna take for us to be successful for many years to come.”

Kroger joining the RFK family as a key partner is no small move, either. The nationwide grocery retail chain will see their colors adorn the 6, 17, and 60 Mustangs throughout 2025 and beyond.

“This program is really special to us,” said Eric Sanchez, Kroger VP of Grocery. “Not just as sponsors but for our associates and for our brand partners and we wanted to be here to celebrate. We have a lot of events going on to celebrate our new partnership and so I wanted to take a second to talk about why this program is unique. We at Kroger have a long history of partnering with some of our most trusted brand sponsors to reach the 80 million-plus NASCAR fans in a really different way. That’s things like what we do online to promote our brands and promote our team, in stores and out at the racetracks, so we have a 360 program across the country that we really believe in. It’s something that we’re really proud of and we can’t wait to see the next evolution of this.”

Roush has not fielded three full-time Cup Series teams since 2017. Team President Steve Newmark did confirm they are leasing a charter from Rick Ware Racing. The addition of this expansion car only further cements the positive impact seen by Keselowski in his brief time as team co-owner. RFK Racing saw both the Nos. 6 and 17 cars return to victory lane in 2024, with Keselowski nabbing a Playoff berth from his Darlington triumph in May. The No. 60 going full-time should be in lockstep with both team cars in chasing checkered flags and a deep Playoff run.
