Grant Enfinger Gives CR7 Motorsports Maiden triumph, Returns to Championship 4

Talladega, Ala. – Alabama native and Truck Series veteran Grant Enfinger took another victory on his home turf. The CR7 Motorsports No. 9 Chevrolet was the class of the field throughout Friday afternoon in Talladega, being one spot away from a max-points day. Enfinger earns a first NASCAR win for the Codie Rohrbaugh-led team, and locks in his third career Championship 4 berth.

The Fairhope, Alabama driver and past Talladega Truck winner was in the wind from the drop of the green flag. If not for a last lap pass in Stage 1, Enfinger would have swept all three stages.

The final restart of the day saw Enfinger out front with nine laps left, and a run never materialized behind him. As trucks slid everywhere coming to the line, Enfinger took a third different team to Truck Series victory lane.

“That’s all Tim Fedewa right there,” Enfinger said. “We knew stuff was going to get dicey, the biggest thing was we didn’t make all the perfect decisions today. But we had a Champion Power Equipment Chevy that was fast enough to to get it done today. So even though we chose outside once or twice and maybe we shouldn’t have, that was hairy coming right there.”

“I knew Taylor [Gray] was coming with a run, Tim [Fedewa] told me to go up then he told me to come down and I just had it right there. Hopefully all the fans enjoyed it. There’s nothing like winning it at your
home track. I got my family here, first win with my daughter and my son here. Looking forward to that and just on top of that we get to race for a championship in Phoenix.”

“The first [Playoff] round did not go well, we snaked through there and now we won here. Thank you to Jeff Hensley, thank you to Codie Rohrbaugh, and everybody that makes this possible, everybody at Chevrolet. We had a really fast Chevy here. It was the same truck we had at Daytona, where we didn’t have anything to run with them. We had a truck that could win all day today.”

“Codie’s been racing for a long time, so it’s not a first year team but we revamped everything. Came
over there we’re fortunate enough to bring Jeff Stankiewicz over there. A lot of really really good people followed us over here. There are just so many people that make this team. It’s a little bit of the little team that could but we have great resources with our friends over there at MHR. Obviously great resources from everybody at Team Chevy, so we’ve been knocking on the door. I know it’s a speedway race, but we’ve been knocking on the door at all the tracks.”

“I feel like we stumbled that first round of the Playoffs but it really doesn’t matter now. Being able to win our way to Phoenix now we can just focus on that. We like looking forward to having some fun the next couple races but a championship’s on the line now.”

Behind Enfinger were Taylor Gray, Daniel Dye, Rajah Caruth, and Lawless Alan. Christian Eckes, Ryan Reed, Stefan Parsons, Bret Holmes, and Spencer Boyd rounded out the top-10. Hear from a few of the remaining Truck Series Playoff contenders below.

The Truck Series Playoffs roll onward from Homestead-Miami Speedway in three weeks. The green flag will fly Saturday, October 26 at noon on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. The south Florida track holds another Championship 4 berth at stake for seven drivers. Who can cash in from South Beach?
