Ty Majeski Takes Richmond Regular Season Finale Truck Race
RICHMOND, Va. – The Truck Series Playoff grid is final for 2024; 10 drivers are ready to chase the championship trophy at Phoenix Raceway in November. Wrapping up the regular season at Richmond, it was another short track clinic from Ty Majeski. After mid-race issues, the No. 98 motored back to victory lane.
From the pole, Christian Eckes battled back late to win Stage 1. These early points locked up the regular season championship for the No. 19 team. Eckes was one position shy of a sweep, being second to Grant Enfinger in Stage 2.
A series of yellows kept the field tight together for the entirety of Stage 3. Rebounding from a mid-race pit road penalty, Ty Majeski took command on a restart with eight laps left and drove off. It was a slugfest for every spot behind him, but the No. 98 cruised to its second-straight win.
“It feels good, we’ve had great ThorSport trucks here at Richmond the last few years,” Majeski said. “Found different ways to lose them, and we tried doing it again tonight. Another mistake, we really need to clean that stuff up before Playoff time, but so proud of these guys sticking behind me.”
“SodaSense, a local sponsor from my hometown of Seymour, Wisconsin. So cool to see it come full-circle. They’ve been a huge supporter of mine. All of our partners, Curb Records, Road Ranger, we wouldn’t be able to do it without them and Duke and Rhonda Thorson. They gave me a huge opportunity a few years ago, and I’m having the time of my life racing for this team. Proud of these ThorSport guys. We work so hard at the shop, we’re proud to do this from Sandusky, Ohio. We’re going to try and bring another trophy back home.”
The 2024 Truck Series Playoff grid can be seen here. Seven races and two rounds of elimination separate the current 10 from being the Championship 4 in Phoenix.
The final drivers locking themselves into the Playoffs were: Taylor Gray, Ben Rhodes, and Daniel Dye. All of these drivers did come home in the top-10, with postrace thoughts below.
The Truck Series Playoffs begin at Majeski’s home track, the Milwaukee Mile. The LiUNA 175 goes green Sunday, August 25 at 4 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. Majeski will try and keep the momentum rolling with a third-straight win on his home turf.
