Ty Majeski Takes First Win of 2024, Second-Straight Victory at IRP

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – One of the most prolific short track racers in the country found Truck Series victory lane again. Ty Majeski turned out to repeat his 2023 triumph from Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, leaving the competition in the dust.

Aside from a Stage 1 restart penalty, the ThorSport Racing No. 98 Ford F-150 hardly put a wheel wrong all night. A second-straight TSport 200 win puts Majeski back into Truck Series Playoff contention, with one regular season race left. Majeski spent much of the night trailing title rival Christian Eckes, but came to life in Stage 3.

“It’s huge, obviously I made a little bit of a mistake, it was probably a close call on that restart,” Majeski said. “I had to pony up and get it back. Obviously when you make a mistake as a driver, you drive a little harder to make up for it. These guys had my back, awesome pit stops. It’s been an up and down year, we’ve had the speed to win, just haven’t been able to put it together. I’ve had some bad luck along the way, some of it self-inflicted. Man, so proud of this Road Ranger group, Soda Sense, Curb Records, everyone that’s part of this program, Duke and Rhonda Thorson especially. This is the TSport 200, proud to bring the trophy home.”

Behind Majeski at the checkers was Eckes, who won both Stages and was one spot shy of another max-points night. Grant Enfinger, Tyler Ankrum, and Layne Riggs rounded out the top-five. Sammy Smith, Luke Fenhaus, Rajah Caruth, Dean Thompson, and Nick Sanchez were the top-10.

A post-race discussion was had on pit road between Eckes and Corey Heim, following some earlier contact. Both drivers left the confrontation without any escalating tensions however.

Majeski was not the only driver to lock up a Playoff berth from IRP. On points, both Tyler Ankrum and Grant Enfinger also made the 10-man cut. Take a look at the rest of the Playoff grid below with one regular season race remaining.

The Truck Series regular season all comes down to Richmond Raceway on Saturday, August 10. The green flag will fly in the Commonwealth at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. The Clean Harbors 250 will decide the final three contenders in the 2024 Playoffs, and begin their seven-race run to the championship.
