Carl Edwards, Ricky Rudd, Ralph Moody Voted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2025

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Unveiled Tuesday, Ricky Rudd, Carl Edwards, and Ralph Moody have all been selected for the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2025. In addition, Dr. Dean Sicking was named the recipient of the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel met Tuesday in Charlotte to decide the coming class of inductees. There were 15 nominees total for the 2025 class, along with five Landmark Award choices.

The Class of 2025 was determined by votes cast from a group representing NASCAR, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, track owners, media members, manufacturer representatives, competitors (drivers, owners, crew chiefs), recognized industry leaders, a nationwide fan vote conducted through NASCAR.com and most recent NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney.

Rudd received 87% of the Modern Era ballot votes, Edwards received 52%. Harry Gant finished third, followed by Jeff Burton and Harry Hyde. Ralph Moody received 60% of the Pioneer ballot votes. Ray Hendrick finished second.

Results for the NASCAR.com Fan Vote were: Ray Hendrick (Pioneer); Carl Edwards and Harry Gant (Modern Era).

The two inductees came from a group of 10 nominees that included: Greg Biffle, Neil Bonnett, Tim Brewer, Jeff Burton, Randy Dorton, Carl Edwards, Harry Gant, Harry Hyde, Ricky Rudd, and Jack Sprague.

Nominees for the Pioneer Ballot included: Ray Hendrick, Banjo Matthews, Ralph Moody, Larry Phillips, and Bob Welborn.

Edwards is the most successful driver in this year’s class. Over a 14-year career in NASCAR National Series competition, Edwards totaled 72 wins. This includes an Xfinity Series championship in 2007, and two Cup Series runner-up results. Edwards’ success came in an ultimately abbreviated career between Roush and Joe Gibbs Racing.

Rudd was NASCAR’s Iron Man, making a record 788 consecutive Cup starts. The Virginia racer totaled 23 Cup wins across 32 seasons, and was title runner-up in 1991.

Moody was a visionary team owner, part of the iconic Holman-Moody organization. Holman-Moody’s base in Charlotte was integral to North Carolina becoming NASCAR’s hub of operations.

Nominees for the Landmark Award included Alvin Hawkins, Lesa France Kennedy, Dr. Joseph Mattioli, Les Richter, and Dr. Dean Sicking.

Sicking is revered among modern NASCAR for helping to invent the SAFER Barrier. The softer wall technology at racetracks across America has saved countless drivers lives over more than two decades.

The Class of 2025 Induction Ceremony is set for Friday, Feb. 7, 2025 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tickets for the Induction Ceremony will be available later this month on NASCARHall.com.
